Over the past few weeks, I have been downloading a whole lot of freely offered eBooks. A great deal of these are in the .pdf format. However, some were "epub". After reading a few (I got a Nook recently), I noticed that some of them were produced using a program called calibre. I downloaded the program for free and even converted a few .pdf files. They came out well and I think that I might start doing it more often.
This brings me to my question. I have created via writing by hand a book of poetry. Some of it is song lyrics that I have recorded on albums and some is other stuff. I would like to put this all together in an epub. The problem is that I have never tried to create a .pdf using Adobe or any other program. I would like to be able to format this so that it looks really good and gives the reader something to really appreciate. It is poetry after all. I used to write these by hand into a small book. I was trying to really give the reader something more than just a print form of poetry. I would like to be able to do something good with an epub.
Anybody every try to create their own eBook?
Anybody here use Adobe or another program that is easier for creating an easily manipulated .pdf?

Sam
