I think it's a great idea to have a sub-forum for scholarly Buddhism and Buddhist history and archaeology.

I agree.  It would be great.

However we have more forums and subforums than our traffic can support, really.  I've talked with Meez about trimming down the number of forums to a more reasonable number.  It would be a bit of work to do it right.  We need to coordinate with Wonky Badger our administrator.

I was thinking about a a single forum for Pali Cannon/Something-other-than-Hinayana, a second for Mahayana (including Vajrayana and Pure Land),Tea Room, Danger Zone, etc

that's true chaz, there are times when i have trouble logging into this site when i don't at other times. This is already a big forum on an enormous topic, remember that "Dhamma" means everything? What i want to figure out is what "the tathagtha" really means, i mean, i've seen all the info on wikipesia, we can't really know this. To sound corny, we don't really "know" anything, or atleast i don't.

the mind, is infinite, if you start picking it apart it starts expanding, outward and outward into infinity. There are so many questions i have...
