Statue Identification help.
« on: March 08, 2016, 08:45:21 pm »
Hi everyone, I am looking for some help in identifying a Tibetan statue, the description states it as white Tara, however it appears to be more like Vajrasattva, doesnt White Tara usually not hold anything and has a particular pose?

Thanks for any help.

definitely not Tara(well almost definitely) no tara holds anything from what I can see. And yes, it is also not clearly a female XD. Looks a lot like Vajrasattva to me, but who knows who it was "supposed to be" there are a lot of places that make these, some "legitimately" and some not. Kind of important might be what is inside of it, who blessed it and how etc. if you are really serious about that stuff. Not sure if you could trust that by an eBay seller who doesnt even really know what the statue is of. Just saying. Legit statues are super expensive. But you can buy empty ones that are good pretty cheaply, and if you can take it somewhere or know someone like a lama maybe they can fill/bless it for you?
