Chickens
« on: August 11, 2010, 01:27:48 pm »
Over 300,000 chickens at factory farms in the vicinity of St.Petersburg, Russia have perished in the recent wildfires.  It was shown on national TV.  Prayers for a good rebirth for them and other victims of these horrible fires would be very appreciated!

Pray for the fortunate rebirth of all the beings in the current extraordinary range of world disasters.

And directly help those we can.

May they all be free from suffering.  :buddha:
A man sees the rope in the twilight he mistakenly apprehends a snake and develops fear. To remove this fear he must remove the mind apprehending a snake by realizing that there is no snake. Even then, if the rope is left in the same place there is a danger that the same mistake will be made in the future. The only way to remove this danger is to remove the rope. Similarly, sentient beings observing their aggregates in the darkness of their ignorance mistakenly apprehend an inherently existent I. This mind grasping at an inherently existent I is the root of samsara and the source of all fear. To remove the fears of samsara we must remove this mind by realizing that there is no inherently existent I.

Fires in Russia.  Fires in Canada.
Mud slides in China.  Flooding in Pakistan.
Tornadoes in U.S..  Starvation in Africa.
War in Afghanistan. .......

Life is suffering, stress, and dissatisfaction. :r4wheel:

The chickens were victims because they were in a chicken farm not because of a natural disaster.
They would have ended up in the fire of the frying pan anyway.
The wildfire actually spared the chickens the bad karma of being the source of others bad karma due to killing and eating the chickens.
Damn those chickens for being so tasty.
On to enlightenment!
