International Youth Seminar on Life and Ch'an

Date: August 5th ~ 11th, 2011
Venue: Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

The program will consist of seminars and discussion panels on diverse topics such as: EQ management, environmental and spiritual preservation, life and death studies, Buddhist psychology, and the application of Humanistic Living Ch’an (Zen) to daily life. Scheduled spiritual cultivation activities will include meditation, chanting, and sutra calligraphy. Additionally, a tour of Taiwan which will include visits to Buddhist sites, national parks, and other attractions will allow participants to not only witness the natural beauty of the island, but experience the cultural richness of Taiwan.

The event organizers welcome youths ages 18~35 from around the world to participate in the seminar to express their care for life and the earth. The seminar will accept up to 1000 youths. Throughout the duration of the event, accommodation, food, and tour expenses will be sponsored by the organizer.

Please call to confirm receipt of your application materials. The admission list will be posted on the official website on July 5.
