Does anyone here ever take revenge for something done to an ancestor?

I educate myself in revenge for those who kept my ancestors in ignorance. I refuse to keep slaves in revenge for those who enslaved my ancestors. I refuse to be violent in revenge for those who were violent towards my ancestors.....
“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” Franz Kafka

When I see questions like this one, I think of several situations:

1.  Groups which demand reparations for slavery.

2.  Biblical (Old Testament) holiday celebrations which reflect violent retribution by the Abrahemic God against persecutors of the Jews.

I have never heard of seeking retribution for actions taken against Buddhists.
What Makes an Elder? :
A head of gray hairs doesn't mean one's an elder. Advanced in years, one's called an old fool.
But one in whom there is truth, restraint, rectitude, gentleness,self-control, he's called an elder, his impurities disgorged, enlightened.
-Dhammpada, 19, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.
