Title: EVER HEAR OF A GODWINK?
Post by: jimsouth on January 19, 2018, 04:01:12 pm

A Godwink is an encounter or situation, that although may seem insignificant at the moment, still leaves a lasting & very pleasant impression. For instance: I am shopping at a local Wal-Mart; and I see a grandmother riding herd on her toddler grandson. The child is just able to keep his balance; but he is talking like magpie. Pointing at everything & chattering to beat the band. I kneel down & say, hey buddy what's your name? His name is John. I say, hello John, I'm Jim, very nice to meet you. That ended the encounter, and I was on my way. So maybe 15 or 20 seconds talking to John. I finish my shopping and I am at the checkout. In front of me at the register is John ( sitting in the shopping cart with the groceries ) & his grandmother. He turns around and looks at me, his eyes light up, he climbs to his feet, stretches out his arms, and at the top of his lungs yells, JIM!!!! So, my Godwink for that day. I can't include the inflections ( emotions ) in this post, but I think you see what I mean. GODWINK.

Yes, I know what you mean, but why call it a "Godwink"?

I suppose it could be called, an "intelligent higher power wink"; but that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue like Godwink.

Why not?

It implies you can't have such experiences unless you believe in God.

I prefer "BuddhaWink".   :teehee:

( for some reason I want to say this in a German accent, like "Buddhavink"  :teehee: )
