What are you waiting for?Get up! Sit up! What's your need for sleep? And what sleep is there for the afflicted, pierced by the arrow (craving), oppressed? Get up! Sit up! Train firmly for the sake of peace, Don't let the king of death, — seeing you heedless — deceive you, bring you under his sway.— Sn 2.10"Over there are the roots of trees; over there, empty dwellings. Practice jhana, monks. Don't be heedless. Don't later fall into regret. This is our message to you."— SN 35.145
Do you ever practice outdoors, all alone in the woods or so?
Quote from: TMingyur. on January 12, 2012, 10:01:11 pmDo you ever practice outdoors, all alone in the woods or so? My favourite places to practice are by the sea and on hill-tops, I think it's the sense of open space and perspective. Though by "practice" I suppose I really mean just sitting and taking it in. Spiny
I guess there is a reason why cemeteries and jungles are not so favorite places for practice. *smile* We would meet up with our self and fear that something would touch it, while it as really big space in the great white open, and we can give the self beautiful frame, mine is the universe.
So having no i-pone one better stays at home.
Is a pager or a normal handy ok? You know, we could get lost, or break the foot, or something important could happen in the office, maybe the girlfriend gets nervous... all that stuff. You know, its different today. We have responsibilities, not like some 20 years ago.
