From a Zen/Pure Land website:
“The object of Pure Land Buddhism is the direct realization of the Purified Mind and our subsequent rebirth into the Realm of Bliss. Our Purified mind is the Pure Land, and our True Nature is Amitabha Buddha.”
I would like to find a book that deals specifically with this. Any website pages or previous threads would also be of interest to me.
Thanks for sharing the quote, Sopa!
I don't have a written reference to share. However, it is not hard to arrive at the above concepts if one approach it from other Mahayana topics.
Let's look at the Yogacara, or Consciousness-Only, school of thoughts. The Pure Land, just like any other conceivable objects, is a construction of one's consciousness. That is, the Pure Land is no different to the mind.
Now of course it would have to be a pure mind, or a purified mind. As Mahāsthāmaprāpta Bodhisattva has taught on nienfo in the Śūraṅgama Sūtra, "perfect control of the six senses with continuous pure thoughts in order to realise Samādhi."
In regards to realising that "our True Nature is Amitabha Buddha", it is a fundamental concept in Mahayana that all sentient beings have the same buddha nature. Our quest is to realise it - the Dharmakaya (Dharma body) that is shared by all buddhas. There are plenty of references one can find on this in Prajna, Chan/Zen, the Lotus Sutra, etc.
I know I haven't directly addressed your request, but I hope I have helped you somewhat.
