How to be generous when you attend multiple Dharma centers
« on: February 11, 2016, 03:40:45 pm »
Hi, I was wondering what thoughts folks have on this.  I'm in Florida where we are fortunate to have many centers in many traditions and I try to attend as much as possible; some places I attend monthly and some I attend whenever they have retreats and special events.  Understandably, everyone needs donations and support.  Should I donate based on my frequency of attendance, based on the center's need, or just give everyone the same amount?  I usually do some combination of those but I am curious as to people's opinions on being 'effectively' generous.  Thanks!

There is usually a recommended donation for events, so that might be a guide if you're not sure.  It's probably difficult to assess who has the greatest need looking in from the outside.
