I'm posting this for the benefit of new people who may be on the lookout for an accessible practice to try.

In our school of Buddhism (Tendai), we contemplate the teachings in a structured way.  This is not the same as study or analysis.  It is more like a guided meditation.  I have been posting selections of teachings that are appropriate for contemplation, with instructions on how to do this practice, at our blog (see links below).  If this practice resonates with you or if you have any questions, I'm available to lend a hand through PM here at FreeSangha or by email at JikanAnderson at gmail.com.

How-to on contemplation:

Most important thing:  take it slow, lead with the heart, and let it sink in the bones.

I hope this is helpful.

Happiness depends on what you can give not what you can get.

May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, a tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire.  May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live.

Practice is somewhat easier if one dons the traditional DC Ten-dye --

It's a beauty, for sure, but now I think I've hijacked Jikan's thread with a silly pun.   Cheesy Grin

Feel a contemplation on equanimity coming, or is it just me?
