I came across a line which made me chuckle in the Suttavibhanga, in which Gautama is asked why he doesn't offer a seat and stand up to the Brahmins, and Gautama replies that whom he could do such a thing for: his head would split asunder.

I can only assume that this means that either such a person is incomprehensible, or that he is impossible.

Perhaps someone with knowledge regarding this phrase could enlighten me.
