I tried donating for three days in a row, but it rejects my cards... at the redcross site. I will try again today, I even looked for a paypal way to send some funds... but I couldn't locate anything and have sent an email to the website about this...
I have been praying for them daily and lighting candles as aspirations of compassion.

May all the people of Haiti immediately receive all the assistance that they need. May all the peoples who died in the earthquake be reborn in the Pure Lands. May there be no more disasters in this world.
I'm not sure why the Red Cross site isn't taking cards but their site may have been flooded at that time. You could also try Bhikkhu Bodhi's Buddhist Global Relief (
http://www.buddhistglobalrelief.org/main.html
), Tzu CHi, President Clinton's Foundation and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund (
http://clintonbushhaitifund.org/index.php
).
The people of Haiti will need long term care going forward.

Thank you for that info, I set up donations for both. I'm not sure why redcross.org had issues with my cards either, could have been that they were just flooded with too much traffic...

People may not be replying because it can be a hard topic to reply about. They have been in my thoughts ever since the first quake. I hope they keep finding survivors, even this late they pulled a baby out of rubble, thin but alive, and the baby had been trapped for 8 days.

Another survivor was rescued today (Saturday)! He's in pretty good shape, too! Yaayyy!

May many good things for Haiti come out of this tragedy. May Haitians experience an outpouring of love from people all over the planet.
Peace,

I was listening to the news on the radio this morning, and unfortunately, rains have begun earlier than expected in Haiti, which complicates things immensely. There are still not enough tents and temporary housing, so the rain increases the chance of cholera and other diseases as well as shifting of rubble due to the added weight of the rain water. So, the news isn't great.

May the Haitian people reap all the benefits of an early rain yet be protected from disease, discomfort, and all other ill effects of the storms. May the rain bring abundant crops and fresh drinking water for all. May all sentient beings in Haiti be peaceful and well.
