Greetings from Newark, DE
« on: January 27, 2016, 01:27:28 pm »
Hello fellow Earthlings!  I was very delighted to find this forum and am hoping to learn lots of fun things. I've become very drawn to buddhism lately, something about it has me in its grasp, and I haven't quite got it all figured out yet. So I am hoping to make meaningful connections and gain the knowledge I need to find out what the meaning of my attraction is..

Peace Love and Light to you all

Welcome, Mr. Kitty.

I think you have it backwards:  You have Buddhism in your grasp, not visa versa.  Hopefully, over time you will understand the importance of the difference.

What Makes an Elder? :
A head of gray hairs doesn't mean one's an elder. Advanced in years, one's called an old fool.
But one in whom there is truth, restraint, rectitude, gentleness,self-control, he's called an elder, his impurities disgorged, enlightened.
-Dhammpada, 19, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

Welcome Mr. Kitty.  Is there any particular type of Buddhism you are drawn to?
