Hello -- for the very first time!
« on: January 28, 2011, 03:37:11 pm »

This is Individual from e-Sangha.

I'm letting you know:

You should fix your captcha. Because the question, "Are you human?" seems unfair.

First I put, "I don't know." It wouldn't let me register. Then I put, "Maybe," and it still didn't work. So then I put, "Yes."

But that's not true. I don't know if I'm human. I don't know what I am. I will say I am human for the sake of using this forum, but I don't want to be dishonest (I would rather seem crazy and weird than be dishonest).

I do not believe I am a robot (although I admit it is possible!). However, this apparently frail human body and mind are also not self.

That sounds true and I don't find it funny.

Spam? Artificial meat?

I'm a robot that continually spits out artificial meat? Not funny at all.

I'm actually a bit afraid of robots. I think I'd be OK with extraterrestrials (whether they're blond-haired & blue-eyed, greys, lizardmen, or something else) but robots scare me. Seriously. Because it's possible I might be one... Or I might've been Hitler in a past life. Or everything repeats itself...

Aaaaaaaah! I'm rambling. I think I'll stop posting.

Welcome, Alex. I hope you enjoy your time here at FreeSangha.

I read your posts on other forums, and I have come to the conclusion (stereotype? typecasting?) that you seem to have some similar personality traits that I have. In the ways I think highly of myself, that is a compliment. However, it is probably bad news for everyone else.

Welcome to the boards, Alex.  :hi:
I'll seriously consider that captcha suggestion.  :lmfao:  Shouldn't be too hard to fix as long as we can come up with other options that still make sentient beings choose the same option (almost) every time.

So how about the question "are you a sentient being?" Would that work? And would even beginners understand it?
My actions are my only true belongings.
I cannot escape the consequences of my actions.
My actions are the ground on which I stand.

Over at Dhammawheel it was reported that Alex passed away yesterday, succumbing to a heart attack.

I wish him well in his passing, and peace in the next existance.

I can't help but think he logged on here, read a few of Caz's posts and promptly died of a massive heart attack.

But...

We fought each other. We helped each other. We wrestled with the Dharma together. We argued honestly, fairly and without pretense. And so we learned. He will be missed, for the forums will be less without him. Travel happily, my brother, and may the Dharma swiftly deliver you to safer shores.
