Hello from Japan
« on: January 30, 2016, 08:20:39 am »
Hi,
I'm Marcus.
I live in Japan, where I am a writer and English teacher.
I used to be around on the old E-Sangha board and made some good friends there.
That was a good few years ago now though. Glad to see there is a new forum up and running.
I'm not interested in debates (there used to be too much of that on E-Sangha), I've just registed here tonight to post on the prayer forums, and just say hello!
All the best,
Marcus

Welcome, Marcus.  There are a few of us e-Sangha folks around on this forum.  Let's have a reunion!
What Makes an Elder? :
A head of gray hairs doesn't mean one's an elder. Advanced in years, one's called an old fool.
But one in whom there is truth, restraint, rectitude, gentleness,self-control, he's called an elder, his impurities disgorged, enlightened.
-Dhammpada, 19, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.
