Title: Hello, I'm Cypress
Post by: Cypress on May 29, 2016, 06:50:33 pm
I'm new to this forum, but not to forums in general.

I've been on the search for the path that fits me and have joined several forums, and even ran one for a while.  For a long time I followed a Jedi Path, or was a Force Realist. I still strongly believe in an energy that binds every living thing.

I have clinical depression, I'm Bi-polar and have attempted suicide 3 times in the past couple months. My wife admitted me to a hospital for a week, and I've been placed on new meds.

While in the hospital I started thinking and meditating. I haven't had any discipline in my spiritual path for a long while. I thought about my own beliefs and thought that Buddhism could be the path I'm supposed to be on.

When I got home, I was cleaning out my closet of junk and found a book i bought a ling time ago called, "The Dharma of Star Wars".  It's been a long while since I've seen this book, even forgot about it. Finding it, when I was looking for a better spiritual path was a sign.  This is what I'm supposed to do.

I have started meditating again, though I am out of practice. In time, I know I will get to where I was a couple years ago.

I've been reading all that I can to learn more about this path. I've found several videos on YouTube that were very helpful. I'm ordering new Mala beads, and will give this the best I can.

So, that's a little about me... Maybe more than a first post should share, but it doesn't do me any good to be a closed book.
