Hi, I'm back and I've a new name :-)
« on: August 07, 2012, 10:24:49 am »
Hi folks, I was on here once before, a little while back under the name of  "thehappysnapper"  but now I'm back as  "@BuddhistWarrior",  why @BuddhistWarrior I hear you all ask, well I'm not a soldier or a martial arts expert or anything interesting like that, I'm just a Buddhist Wigan Warriors fan  (for those not in the know they are a rugby league team),  its also my Twitter user name, I spend a fair bit of time using Twitter.

I have gone through one or two changes since I was last on here, back then I really classed myself as a Kadampa Buddhist with leanings toward Zen, now I think of myself more as a "Modern Western Non Sectarian Buddhist", bit of a mouthful ain't it  ;D, although I don't see myself as following any single tradition, I just kinda do my own thing, I am still influenced by Kadampa and Zen Buddhism but I don't mind borrowing bits from elsewhere as well. The area I live in is a New Kadampa Tradition stronghold, I'm a half hour bus ride from the Manjushri UK, so this influences me greatly, plus I enjoy many aspects of Zen Buddhism, this is why both of these are my main influences.

Anyway I look forward to getting back in the swing of things here on the forum with all you lovely folk as my virtual Sangha.   :namaste:

welcome back.

I'm kinda glad you changed your handle.  In certain circles "Happy Snapper" refers an female anatomical part best not discussed in polite society.  Every time I saw you post under that name, I winced.

Sorry.
