Hello from Pennsylvania
« on: July 11, 2017, 09:57:18 pm »
Hello all,

This is my first post. A brief interdiction.  I’m not a religious person, never really have been. However, I have a strong moral compass to be a good person, and be at my best even in the worst situations.
A few years ago, I read a book called 10% Happier that introduced me to Buddhist and while it didn’t really discuss in great length Buddhist teaching it did plant a seed in my mind. I took time out to meditate for a while and then over time my efforts dwindled and I honestly don’t know why I lost interest.

After having some devastating losses of family members, the last two years and sometime passed I realized there needs to be more in life and I know in my mind is the key.  I happened across Sadhguru on YouTube and really enjoyed the videos, I must have clocked in a good 60 hours watching them.

Never had interested or connected with any preacher or religious figure but I liked his style and way of thinking that drove me to go head first in Buddhist a month ago. I researched different beliefs and when I saw what Buddhist was about and the rules I thought, well that’s easy that’s me all over!

I continued to watch videos, I read Inner Engineer by Sadguru, currently reading Buddhist for Dummies and have What the Budda taught at the ready for my next one.

Reviewing my area there is nothing within a reasonable distance I could visit and learn from, so naturally I turned to the internet and here I am!

hello!
-Brad

Hello all,

...  I’m not a religious person,

Neither am I.

Welcome and have a good time!
