New Oldie

Hi All,

Just found and joined this forum. I've been a 'sort of' Buddhist for about 8 years, initially with a group following the tradition of Thich Nhat Han and later with some Tibetan groups. Currently not attached to any specific tradition, but continue to practice, read, and learn from my 2 grandsons, who are 5 months and 4 years old respectively.

Welcome, Snowtops.

I have three grandsons (16, 16, & 12), two grand daughters ( 22, and 19 ), and one great grand son (10 months ).

Glad you chose to join us.  Look forward to reading your posts.

What Makes an Elder? :
A head of gray hairs doesn't mean one's an elder. Advanced in years, one's called an old fool.
But one in whom there is truth, restraint, rectitude, gentleness,self-control, he's called an elder, his impurities disgorged, enlightened.
-Dhammpada, 19, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.
