I'm living the affordable lifestyle
« on: February 25, 2019, 09:21:46 am »
I think the key is to reduce the lifestyle to Simplicity.

If you want to have Luxury and be rich does that mean your going to be unhappy.

Dharma  :dharma:

The Buddha advised that we should: “ Acquire the Right View, keep the precepts, be devoted to serenity of mind, not neglect meditation, be possessed of insight, and, live in an empty hut.”

There is also a saying that: "What you own will eventually own you"

Wanting things you can't have will inevitably make you unhappy.  But generally I agree that simplicity is a positive, particularly since maintaining and paying for possessions can be quite time consuming.

Maybe it buys you a better class of enemy.
“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” Franz Kafka
