Longest Sesshin/Meditation!
« on: August 11, 2017, 05:17:30 pm »
So I follow a tradition that is very heavy on Simply Sitting Zazen.  The tradition is Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery in America & Antai-ji in Japan.

I know some in the Theravada tradition like Pa Auk do intensely long individual sits but those are hard to measure!

What is the longest verified Sesshin that you have heard of or seen documented somewhere!

I heard about a 100 day Sesshin which blew my mind  :headbow:

What did you gain till now with your sitting?

There is a very disenchanting Sutta, that is importand to remember: Maha Saropama Sutta: The Longer Heartwood-simile Discourse.

As for the beginning of the path, the stream is not entered by sitting, as all other paths.
