What movies have you been into?

What was the most worse movie you had recognized "luckily"?

How did it come that you got into?

How did it happen that you got aware of it?

How much had this most worse movie cost you?

Do you still seek for movies?

If you have stopped to seek after them, how do you take care not to come into one?

Dude, you posted a thing on movies in the meditation section.

Instead of contemplating film, how about contemplating better English?

And what does a mannabe forest monk have to do with an interest in film?  A mundane and unwholesome subject for one who feigns to go forth.

That's your movie now, Ideal-talk. And? Nice? Are you able to leave it, or does Ideal-talk further giving it substance?

Meta-discussion: If Ideal talks, may person had abounded shows and entertainments, such as movies on outwardly screen, since a long, long time. The vipassana-prison movie was one since a long, yet my person took care to do not get into it, even there are certain wholesome aspects. Of course the topic is rendered very practical, so that it is not only intellectual food but a chance for direct perceiving as well. If talking about movies here, selfconstructed mental movies (e.g. a world, actor and the hero...) is meant. Delusion. ]Meta-discussion: hover if you like.

Off-topic: Seems like rather to seek for being generous and give, an admin, in his movie, has maybe aversive and greedy disabled the "hover"-function... so here colored and possible disturbing.

Ideal talk seems to have causes some horrible movies for some, in regard the "offtipic-hover" thing, with hismovie about it.

The sanskit word for movie, more familar for the Nothern schools: Maya (illusion). Pali maybe: vipallasa

Of course, many monks, especially when in remout isolation, having not gained the path and avoid the support of help of admirable friends, not to speak of lay-people, even if they do not watch outwardly moving pictures, are most of the time in certain movies. Some in horror, some in phantasy or relaxation movies. How ever, Ideal-talk does not need to thinks my person might be a Tibeten-Music-playing-monk, although he is always eager to let you take part on certain wholesome movies on his travel, for the most, to another "place". But mostly people fall asleep or have other movies that causes blackouts, mind-laps, film tear. Sometimes it needs a time that it runs further, sometimes people go for other movies, switch to the next channel. Some even like to throw the TV out of the window... having got into a certain bad movie.

The antidote of being in a movie, is yonisomanasikāro, proper attention.

You obviously take offence with the Samana's behaviour. Do you think it would be more appropriate the Samana ask us about the intimate details of our sex lives?

To understand Element/Visuddhiraptors hint: The seven bonds of sexuality. But lesser about the movie it self than of the causes, backwards, how you came in and out, the pain for you self and others, while getting into and maintain it. A kind ot tantric access, so to speak, to posible get ride of desire for movies, starting to seek for reality. Here in a reflective, meditative way, without desrie to become a certain actor or deity (hero).

To understand the "antidote" (way) of "(getting/being in) a movie": if being virtuose, the 5, 8,10 precepts for householder, are protections against falling into causes and effects of movies in an unbenefical way, it's an avoiding of certain shows, and for a person able to trace what is a movie, what not, having reached the path, "being" just Silavant. So Sila is always higher as any movie one likes possible go and stay into.

5, 8,10 precepts for householder
8 & 10 precept is not really for householder.  :nopity: Householder has spouse & children, according to suttas.  :namaste:

Quote
3. Abrahmacariya veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from sexual activity.

6. Vikalabhojana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from eating at the forbidden time (i.e., after noon).

10. Jatarupa-rajata-patiggahana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from accepting gold and silver (money).

To put into the ending of this movie part: It's ill-gotten, in regard of the eight. So even for those after good houses later.

And in regard of householders "being contemplatives or brahmans", the abounding of trade is also possible. Such incl. most today so called Anagarika, usually maintaining temporary households, here and there, living in dependency of trade possible keeping also the training of avoiding the use of trade-means.

He's not a Samana.

He posted about movies in the meditation forum.

I'd be happy to discuss details of my sex life.  In the correct forum.  I'd say start a thread if your interested, but seeing as you have no sex life ..... :lmfao:

Sometimes my six weekly nocturnal emissions (wet dreams) have sexual imagery (but not always).  :teehee:
