Need a community in portland oregon (US) or around.
« on: April 08, 2016, 12:19:22 am »
I'm trying to find a buddhist community in the Portland area.  Nobody calls back or emails back so far. I don't know what to do or where to go. Everyplace I've looked at seems to be trying to recreate American church or their meditation starts with chanting the names of people I don't know and 'feeling safe' which immediately makes me feel like I need to leave fast. As a kid when I heard people talking about being safe I was usually beaten immediately after.  I was in a meditation class earlier today and the teacher went on for 10 minutes about 'safety' and I couldn't slow my pulse or stop sweating.  I'm not interested in lineages, or taking a vow to save all beings.... Infact I'll flat out say I don't give a shit about becoming a BodhiSattva.  I'm looking for a the way out of Samara.  This is not a place I want to be anymore.  I want out.... I've wanted out longer then I've wanted anything else. I'm looking for very specifically the deep more mystical practices. I'm looking for the people that go really deep, the ones that hear music and realize they're hearing another monks thoughts. I need out of here.... Please...

if you want out of samsara, you want to become a buddha. in order to do thar, you need to become a bodhisattva.
