Sensations of heat in the head
« on: November 28, 2018, 10:53:55 am »
Been on an online (in week 8 of 10) meditation course which has Samatha/Vipassana in it.

Ive been meditating 1.5-2 hours a day on average for 8 weeks now.

A week or week and a half ago i was getting feelings of like an energy field around my head.

The last 4 days i have been getting sensations of strong heat in the front part of my brain outside of meditation. My meditation teacher has said they are not the focus of my meditation and to move on, but i think the fact i am getting fairly strong sensations outside meditation is worth addressing. He is presupposing that these sensations are just in my head, I am not so sure, i cannot be sure but my gut is telling me they are there. I feel them even when i dont focus on them sometimes.

I will tell the Dr about this to rule out anything medically wrong, thought you guys might be able to give me more of an answer?

Cheers

My old meditation teacher would tell students who would bring such things to him, that they are just thoughts. Let go and return to the object of meditation.  As far as your practice is concerned, you should do what your  teacher instructs you to do.

As far as your health is concerned, that should be taken to your Dr.

Apart from that there is no more or better advice that any of us can give you regarding your physical or mental health. We are not physicians.    See point 6 in the TOS.
