Is this a virus or trojan? Please read immediately!
« on: October 19, 2011, 09:21:25 pm »
Urgent question.
On the original post by SpinyO'Norman on the topic "Liberation from beliefs" I am getting a pop-up window with the following text.
I realise Spiny is one of your Global Moderators and I believe one of the founders of this forum.
-------------------------------
The server scribalterror.blogs.com at Protected requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection)
--------------------------------

As it states your password and user name is then requested.

Can someone please check this and see if it is occuring to them or others?
I don't particularly like the idea that they call themselves by the name
scribalterror.blogs.com
Sounds to me like they maybe up to no good.
It is only occuring on Free Sangha...It's not on my computer and not getting past my hotwall and anti-virus defenses....but I'm worried others might not have the defenses I've installed on my computer.
Please check this.

Quiet Heart (Free Sangha member).

So did I.
What I'm concerned about is that someone else won't ignore it.
Which is why I posted the warning for the Mods to look at.

Very thoughtful. I am rarely thinking that far about anything that happens in the internet. May be naive but I rarely get concerned  :teehee:

It seems like blogs.com might have some technical difficulties. The message you see simply means that the directory you're trying to access is password protected. Either the particular page is down or they just decided to make it private. I noted that it was a link in the forum thread, to an image from that site, that caused the problem so I removed it. It should work fine now.

Had some difficulties at login today. It looks like the board has forgotten who I am. Same thing at DharmaWheel.

Havent a clue ?  :cheesy:
A man sees the rope in the twilight he mistakenly apprehends a snake and develops fear. To remove this fear he must remove the mind apprehending a snake by realizing that there is no snake. Even then, if the rope is left in the same place there is a danger that the same mistake will be made in the future. The only way to remove this danger is to remove the rope. Similarly, sentient beings observing their aggregates in the darkness of their ignorance mistakenly apprehend an inherently existent I. This mind grasping at an inherently existent I is the root of samsara and the source of all fear. To remove the fears of samsara we must remove this mind by realizing that there is no inherently existent I.
