Title: Acting out Dharma?
Post by: ad_hominem_2_Mantra on October 12, 2015, 02:48:21 am
A discussion arose in the animal karma section.  That discussion led to the question, "Do we act out Dharma?"  That is, when I do a virtuous deed, this is Dharma practice for me if I have faith and good intention.  But unless my actual wisdom is perfect, and since I am not a Buddha yet, there is no guarantee that the object mind of my virtuous deed will find Dharma in the gesture.  This seems like a dilemma.  WHO is acting when we engage in giving?  Is the actor actually Dharma or truth, since without this we can't even begin to know how to accumulate merit?
