Title: Amnesty for banned members
Post by: Wonky Badger on June 19, 2011, 11:41:32 pm
The recent software upgrade has changed the forum a bit and in the same way forums change, so do people. We've decided to delete the ban records for members that previously have shown an actual interest in Buddhism, in hope of them returning to discuss the Dharma within the limits of our Terms of Service. The only bans that remain are those of spammers, sock puppets and a very few that came here solely to spew hostilities towards other traditions or members.

I know.  Can't we have some reward or something?

Well, Spiny, at least we have each other.  :D

I wouldn't dare say that.  I just meant that things need livening up a bit... :wink1:

Yeah I miss Katersy and wonder what happened to her. Some of the threads she started are still going strong. Oggie has more or less disappeared. Laura shows up in chat once in a blue moon but doesn't seeem to have posted anywhere lately.

Yeah I miss Katersy and wonder what happened to her...

Last time she disappeared for a while she came back and said she'd had a new boyfriend. You can't fault someone for being young, attractive, and having an active love life!

Doesn't she have to get clearance from the Collective first?

Geez, these kids.

Anyway, why don't you mods start some interesting threads?  I mean what do you do all day? :teehee:

We keep the wheels of the interwebs turning! Right now, for example, Caz is running in the almighty hamster wheel of eternal power and MM is fighting off the gremlins. SD is on the shift to keep you lot at bay and all the others are out on a quest to gather sprinkly upgrade dust from the deep caves of the slightly malicious dry-mouth imaginary llama!

Oh, well, that's alright then. :teehee:   I wondered if you'd been abducted by aliens, in which case I would have been quite envious... :lmfao:

I have a long history of starting threads that turn out to be absolutely wretched. Remember my "Would modern psychiatrists diagnose Gautama a person with Asperger's Disorder?" thread?  :lmfao:

And that is only one example in many...

That was yours?  Ay yai yai...

Actually, though, it's never a bad idea to question labels like "Asperger's".

Well, starting threads is always a bit hit and miss, but practice makes perfect.... :wink1:

In my case, practice makes problems.   I keep having to reject new ideas for threads such as:

Why are Buddhists prone to Prostrate problems?

Why did Buddha need a Consort to become enlightened?

Spot the fake?  Yup, the first one.  The second, an assertion about scripture mentioning that Buddha had a  Consort, was made by a well-respected teacher over on DW.  Eek!  :lipsseald:

Hi Yeshe, the Buddha had a consort must be up there with Jesus had a consort, which was posted somewhere recently :wink1:

Ah, that would have been in his lost years in Tibet!  Just you wait, Dan Brown must have that on his list of plots  - after all, Tibetans do use the Star of David, y'know. ;)

I want a kitty like that.

Good to release ban. Hopefully, it will give you good karma, and you won't be sorry.
