Forum migrating to another server

As you can see in the news section, there will be a scheduled downtime of 2-6 hours on Sunday 20 June from 09:00 GMT/UTC. This is to solve the problem with the server errors that we've experienced recently.

If there are any unforseen problems or any other updates during the downtime, I'll post them at our Facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/FreeSangha/373309333533

There is also a "Discussion" page there where you might be able to get your FS fix during the downtime. :) And if the name servers are not updated quickly enough after the migration I will post a temporary web address to access the forum until the domain name forwarding is updated.

The forum is now  running at the new server. Many thanks to meez for helping us to find the new server!  :jinsyx:

Let me know if something is not working as it used to. Unfortunately it seems like we lost the spellchecking feature in the move, but it might be possible to get it installed on this server also. We can always ask our new provider and hope for the best.

Hm... I noticed that I can't post and read Japanese characters in the forum anymore. I guess that is not an essential feature, but hopefully it would be possible to get working in the future.

No, it appears in the composing window but not in the post itself, so it that set of fonts which needs tweaking. Take it steady, though, WB - nobody expects instant perfection. ;)

I guess some features might not be installed on this server if no one has neeeded them before. Perhaps if we ask nicely, there is a chance that we get the features installed.

The migration took three hours in total and a lot of that was waiting time for the domain name to change over to the new server. If i count the effective time, that I actually did anything, I would say that it took about one hour. Apparently these techie type web admin things are easier than they seem. :D

Shhhh. Don't give away the secret!

So it's a bit like Sting and his 10 hours of Tantric Sex.  9.5 hours begging and waiting and 25 minutes recovery time. LOL :)

No Chinese either.  It'd be kind of weird if the other languages didn't work but Chinese did.  Chinese characters are amazingly adaptive to new environments, however.   :)
