I just enabled "pretty URLs", meaning that an URL that before looked like www.freesangha.com/forums/index.php?topic=2598 now looks like http://www.freesangha.com/forums/news-and-announcements/freesangha-forum-upgrade. The point of this is to make URLs more descriptive and search engines will like us a lot more. I remember trying to enable this when we started the forum also, but then it lead to some subforums not working so we had to disable it.

Now it seems to be working fine, but let me know if you have any problems.

The first one (old style) works.  The second one doesn't.

Other than that, no problems!  :cheesy:

Oh... The period of the sentence had ended up added to the end of the link, so that was why it didn't work. Now it should. :)

As I have understood it, it might be normal. It actually leads you to the "Unread posts since last visit" page and that one is cleared of unread posts everytime you log out. But there is a line on that page saying "No unread topics found since your last visit. Click here to try all unread topics", and if you go ahead and click that link I think you'll find what you're looking for.

I guess "Unread Posts" is a bit misleading. I've actually never even noticed those links before! Were they there in the old theme also?

I just added a shoutbox on the main forum to see if there's any interest in it. It's not the same chat room as the normal chat, so that can still be used for a bit more private convos.

Not wanting to perseverate, but I am... The older forum had a new posts button, which would show me everything new. I have not found a button in this new forum that replicates this.
