Introducing A more unique profile!
« on: October 05, 2010, 07:59:31 am »
If you are getting online today, you may notice that your profile looks a little different. That's because we just updated our profile system for Freesangha. Now there is room for whatever you wish to put there, pictures, music etc.

If you do not want this new profile feature, please PM me or Wonky, and we will happily disable it for you.  :namaste:

A question. In each Profile there appears a Section labelled "About Me."  It appears in most user's Profiles with the following text, "I will write this later. : )" I could only find one profile with anything but this statement and that was Wonkey B.

I went into my own Profile to see how to remedy this and can find no place to make changes to remove this generic statement. Am I missing something?
...i found there was no "i" anywhere.....

If you scroll down in your profile, there should be "Modify Profile" and "Ultimate Profile" under that. If you click that you should be able to change it.

WB, I'm not seeing that on my profile.  I searched around once J. McKenna asked but I couldn't find where to change it either.

I see this ...

Modify Profile
 Account Related Settings
 Forum Profile Information
 Look and Layout Preferences
 Notifications and Email
 Personal Message Options

The "Forum Profile Information" allows changes to avatar, picture, signature, but no "About Me."

Could it be related to my chosen Forum layout/skin?  (I'll check that now) --- Checked it and no change.

I do not see "Ultimate profile" anywhere either, and have tried to write things in the "about me" box several times without success.

It seems the board is trying to teach us that it's really not "about me".
Sergeant Schultz was onto something.

I'll go through the code to see if some snippet has been lost somewhere.

I cannot escape the consequences of my actions.

Aha! Found the glitch. It should be working now. No wonder the new profiles never caught on when there was no way to edit them.  :gawrsh:
