shoting in usa, Representative Gabrielle Giffords
« on: January 11, 2011, 07:29:33 am »
TUCSON — Representative Gabrielle Giffords was distressed when the glass front door of her district office here was shattered by a kick or a pellet gun last March, an act of vandalism that took place hours after she joined Democrats in passing President Obama’s health care bill. “Things have really gotten spun up,” she told a television interviewer the next day.

It was a tragic event, but in a way unsurprising given the US gun culture and irresponsible comments by US politicians.

It has been strictly hidden in the mainstream media, that this guy was a member of the US Military. I guess with the recent shooting in Texas they are being very cautious.

Your evidence please...

I have seen several reports that he tried to join the Army and was rejected for being a doper.

Untrue; he was denied admission that he sought. He is mentally ill and his actions could have been predicted based on his history with the Community College and local police.  The only one to be truly held accountable and responsible for the shootings is the shooter. All else distracts from and deprecates the loss and suffering of the surviving victims and their families, and the families of the deceased.

I wouldn't want to disregard other causes and conditions.

I really wish the media would shine a spot light on this stuff. Sarah Palin has been working frantically to delete posts to her Facebook page, congratulating her for inspiring people to take up arms against certain politicians.

They don't have to, Sarah Palin has just stuck her foot in her mouth again and used inflammatory (traditionally anti-semetic) language in a statement trying to distance herself as an influence resulting in the shootings.

The Anti-Rhetoric comments are maddening in terms of logic.

People are saying the only words that are harmful..... are people discussing the previous Right Wing Hate Rhetoric. Apparently that original Rhetoric is completely harmless.

 :wacky:

It matches Sarah Palin coming out, claiming that all her rhetoric was innocent....but that the Liberal Media are now causing harm with their Rhetoric.

Everyone has an agenda, especially the Right Wing. They need to desperately make this go away by deflecting.

"Jared Loughner, the gunman who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and numerous other victims including a Federal Judge and a nine-year-old girl during a political event in Tucson today, was a US military recruit who was obsessed with mind control, mirroring the circumstances of many other mass shooters in history."

"Blood libel" is not anti-semetic in all uses and I saw no such intention in this one. People see what they are predisposed to see ..... whatever came of equanimity being part of being a so called Buddhists?? The vile-spewing, self-serving talk-radio hosts and TV reporters are no worse ...  it seems .......

The more I practice the more distant I feel I have become in relation to politics and current events. I am just trying to point out that Palin just seems to have a real penchant for saying what might appear to be the wrong things at the wrong time.
