Hi Matt,

I'm also a student of the Khenpos (since 1989).  I didn't see this already posted elsewhere, so it's with sadness that I post:   "On the auspicious day of Medicine Buddha, June 19, 2010 at 8:07pm, our most beloved teacher and one of the great scholars and masters in Nyingmapa Buddhism, Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche passed into parinirvana peacefully and beautifully."

There's more info on their website, padmasambhava.org.  In particular there's much rich biographical information about KPSR in their latest (spring 2010) newsletter (the newsletters are called "Pema Mandala", the link to the pdf's are on the left.

I haven't heard anything official but I think the cause was complications from diabetes.

Yes I have heard the news. It is very tough for me as I was very close to my teachers. I am glad that I got to see him one last time before he passed in May.

I have a good friend who belongs to this Sangha. From what he tells me, these tow brothers are AMAZING! His behavior and practice certainly verify this.....

I'm curious about this video:

Dzogchen Pointing Out Instructions by Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche

I always thought pointing out instructions were transmission, but I guess not. It's just as it sounds "pointing out instructions." Because transmission recorded on Youtube wouldn't make much sense, right, since it has to be live?
