free merit - get your fill
« on: October 06, 2012, 03:11:13 am »
Guys as you know we need all the inspiration we can get.
I am on a private YinYana retreat, doing puja for the benefit of all fish
and other sentients.

I will be continuing my practices and sending out blessing and rainbows to you all  :grouphug:

We dolphins and porpoises appreciate your thoughts, but being sentient we have to point out that we are mammals, not fish..... :teehee:

 :smack: of course . . . .
fish are symbols for the awakened
and mammals are further up the evolutionary scale . . . well not in my case . . .

Into my third day now, still learning a new mantra . . .
which I have scrolled, listened to, chanted and generally integrated into my crustacean shell.

I met a fisherman today during morning exercise, I greeted him as a fellow transgressor. Fishing here is one of the activities closest to meditation for many people . . . :)

Just finished delicious porridge breakfast and must return shortly to chanting for everyones well being and determination to practice.

OM YA HA HUM

Yes, I've always thought that fishing is a good excuse to get away somewhere quiet by yourself....I find having a pair of binoculars are good for that too.

People in GB need a reason to sit by a river, so bird watching or fishing (without a hook as my Buddhist karate sensei did) . . . :namaste:

My retreat ends and my real practice begins again. Have to mindfully cycle back to reality . . .

I made extensive use of my Ipad as a support tool, dharma study and shrine but towards the end of the retreat settled into a more 'just sit' style of meditation.

I had a real battle with a tin of tuna. Should I eat this, would the Buddha etc.
My natural Lobsterian instincts were overcome.

The next day I was back on the fish . . . :smack:
