Karma Purification
« on: July 14, 2014, 08:32:55 am »
This is a subject that I have not explored in great detail but am interested in (karma purification chants, techniques, etc.).

I've seen a few articles on this (some involving lam-rim prayer and Vajrasattva) and found a definition on the net, as follows:

"Karmic purification is the process by which the force of association and identification that make up the forms of one's karmic situation are eased over time."

Just wondering others' thoughts on this approach to dealing with obscurations and negative karmic imprints and would be interested to learn about some of the practices people engage in reading karma purification.

Thanks

If you want to purify broken samayas, there's Sadhana of Samayavajra - Damtsig Dorje Depa at FPMT shop - http://shop.fpmt.org/Not-Requiring-Empowerment_c_243.html
which helps in purifying broken vows and negative karma.
There are many interesting practices at FPMT shop which doesn't require empowerment, so if you're interested in tibetan buddhism, you can try them.

Thanks for the resource suggestion Bow.  I'll definitely take a look at it......and yes, I'm probably most familiar with Tibetan Buddhism.
