I do appreciate the 'this is practice, this is samsara' mindset. We are all or have been there. My approach is to sanctify and make more use of the everyday. Mindful dishwashing, mindful travel. Chant while you work. Venerate your favourite fish. That sort of thing.

Tich Naht Hahn is very good on this kind of thing - mindfulness of everyday activities.  Though I've found that a regular sitting practice is a necessary foundation for effective mindfulness ( and vice versa ).
