One lifetime paths
« on: August 13, 2013, 05:21:04 pm »
What is the quickest way to enlightenment?
The one lifetime paths are as far as I know: Zen, Tantra, dzogchen/mahamudra

so some resources?

zen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treeleaf_Zendo
dzogchen: http://arobuddhism.org/community/classes.html

Are you going for enlightenment in one? Any recommended resources?

There's a saying, that the cheap comes out in the end --- if there is indeed a quick way to enlightenment, it is in the eye of beholder, but it's certainly not the prize at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box.

It's all about the diligence in one's practice.

Well said. A fast path followed half heartedly is no substitute for putting ones heart and (non existent?) soul into the gradual ways . . .

Again and again I have come across practitioners, some with decades of teachings and empowerments, doing nothing more than this:

Absolutely.  Time on the cushion, time practising mindfulness, time spent doing other practices like chanting, etc etc.
