I didn't create some of the subforums from the old e-sangha as I did not know if people were really using them. I will open subforums at request, but if they remain unused, they might be taken away again.

Might I suggest a Zen subforum?
Until some users might want otherwise...I would just suggest a all-inclusive Zen subforum.
We can let those who want to do so split it into Zen traditions later, if required.

Added the Artist's Abode to the Lounge. I couldn't come up with a good description for the subforum as I'm not very creative...

those, outside of Zen and while the forum is still small would be the traditions i'd imagine there'd be a demand for...but perhaps add Tendai, Shingon and Chan to the list as the forum grows?

OK, let's see...

So Jodo, Nichiren and Pure Land goes under East Asian Buddhism.

You have a Theravada forum but no forum for Buddhism.  And "Tibetan" Buddhism should be a sub-forum of Buddhism since not all Buddhists are Tibetan.

And you put Yoga under "Health", but only Hatha Yoga is used for exercise in addition to it's intended purpose of enabling "sitting still".  Bhakti Yoga and Karma Yoga and Raja Yoga and Guru Yoga do not relate to "Health".  Perhaps you should me it somewhere more appropriate, or change the name to "Hatha Yoga" if you want to leave it under Health.

Kalachakra, I simply copied the forum structure from the old e-sangha (leaving out subforums). There is a "General Buddhism Discussion" forum in the "Topics in Buddhism" board. Would that meet your needs for a Buddhism forum? Tibetan Buddhism is currently listed as a tradition next to East Asian Buddhism and Theravada. Do you feel that that is wrong?

I will have to look into the yoga issue to decide how to best place it or rename it, but if anyone else has opinions about this, please feel free to comment!

Hi Wonky,

I personally find the layout agreeable for Tibetan under "Traditions".  I would suggest subforums for Tibetan - Dzogchen (there are many practitioners of this high level teaching), potentially a Vajrayana sub as well, and also include all 4 schools for specific posts relevant to each school within the Tibetan tradition: Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya, and Gelug (for the different schools within Tibetan) and then just keep the tibetan board as our general tibetan forum.

Language forums: I would add sub-forums Tibetan, Sanskrit, Pali, Chinese, Japanese for those teachers or experts who can provide many good resources for students of these languages.

Just a thought.  Thank you for all your hard work, we very much appreciate it.

Awesome, that should be pretty self-explanatory.

I'll try to populate it with some starter threads later, I need to quit goofing off and finish my extra credit paper for Biology tonight. (I hate reading science journals....)

OK, I added some subforums under East Asian Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism and the Language forum. I still have to think about how to best solve the Yoga issue.

If you want me to add descriptions of the forums so that members better understand their purpose, just let me know, preferrably with a draft of the description as I might not always know very much about the subject of the specific forum.
