Screen bouncing up and down.
« on: January 02, 2010, 09:46:28 am »
Once the number of words exceeds the opening in the data entry screen, the screen bounces up and down and I can only see what I am writing by scrolling down below the last line.  Once I begin typing again, the screen jumps up and down.

I guess this is the web-designer's way of making me keep it short?

Thanks for any suggestions.   :willy:

Ron, what browser and OS are you on? I do not experience this problem on my lap top, but when I am posting from my Iphone I sometimes experience something similar.

I get the same thing on IE8, when I get too annoyed I use Google Chrome since Firefox doesn't like my computer.  From personal experience Google Chrome is the single fastest most dependently reliable browser I've used to date.  Then again I've only used 5 or 6...  The only annoying thing about Chrome is that it is still relatively new so some pages that support only IE and FF don't load on it.  They're not many though, more like specific sites with template forms to fill our like government sites or like Lenovo support, and stuff.  So in those cases where I get a little notice that Chrome is not supported by this site I open up an IE.  But the screen jumping seems to just be an IE bug..  something to do with an error.

Ron,

I have the same problem.  Have you tried typing your reply in another app (notepad) and then doing the cut and paste?

Personally I find the 5 rows of bouncing smileys a little distracting, as the animation makes my cursor jump.

Oh is it the smileys causing the jump?  I can move most of them all except a row to the popup form so if you click on more they'll all be there...

Thoughts?

Thanks for the workaround.  Great suggestion!

Donna, I've taken out a bunch of smileys from the post and put them in the popup so maybe you have less jumping...  Let me know if you think there are still too many...

I still see the the same jump other people report.

Try taking out all the animated smilies.  I find them distracting and wouldn't care if they all went away.
