Thank you (Free)Sangha!
« on: September 28, 2010, 12:30:50 pm »
I want to point out how fantastic the way our members and moderators have handled the last few squabbly threads.  No one is perfect, quarrels happen, but I want to commend our membership and staff for how kind and fair they have approached each other.

We've had people on the ball about protecting the quality of dialogue by keeping their language kind even when pointing out a problem to a peer or moderator/admin.  Thank you.

We've had people correct themselves without pride and really showed that dharma is a universal truth when realized.  It has given us on staff a whole new inspiration in our constantly renewed commitment to make this the most a forum experience can give its (sangha)members!

I wanted to point this out now, while it's still in my mind, before the next set of squabbles in my life arise in my awareness, and I must concentrate on clearly seeing that situation.  But for right now I give you my gratitude :headbow: .  Thank you FreeSangha for being my  community and be the main supporter of my practice.  May I be able to give as much as I receive from you.  I probably will never be able to repay this kindness.  So for now suffice it to say thank you for all your effort.  You show me dharma in action everyday.

A man sees the rope in the twilight he mistakenly apprehends a snake and develops fear. To remove this fear he must remove the mind apprehending a snake by realizing that there is no snake. Even then, if the rope is left in the same place there is a danger that the same mistake will be made in the future. The only way to remove this danger is to remove the rope. Similarly, sentient beings observing their aggregates in the darkness of their ignorance mistakenly apprehend an inherently existent I. This mind grasping at an inherently existent I is the root of samsara and the source of all fear. To remove the fears of samsara we must remove this mind by realizing that there is no inherently existent I.

I have asked if we could replace all of the smileys with a Caz emoticon. Sad Caz. Happy Caz. Brick to the Head Caz.

My request was denied....
