I suggest we do pujas to appease the nagas in the system.

Ajahn Brahmavamso tells a story about a new, multi-million dollar computer upgrade that NASA was trying to install. It was all set up, and they pushed the start button. It didn't work. A considerable amount of techno stuff later, and still no go. One of the technicians was a devout Thai Buddhist, and suggested that maybe the problem was supernatural and might benefit from the intervention of a monk. The crew was growing desperate, so they agreed to allow a Thai monk to come in and do some chanting. The monk chanted his blessings for an hour, and presto! The system started right up.

Hehe! Ajahn Brahm learned of this story when he met a Thai monk who had been granted the highest level of diplomatic privileges by US Department of Defense. Seems the US government owed the monk a favor or two...

Now I cant even log out because there is a session varification error... :huffy:
A man sees the rope in the twilight he mistakenly apprehends a snake and develops fear. To remove this fear he must remove the mind apprehending a snake by realizing that there is no snake. Even then, if the rope is left in the same place there is a danger that the same mistake will be made in the future. The only way to remove this danger is to remove the rope. Similarly, sentient beings observing their aggregates in the darkness of their ignorance mistakenly apprehend an inherently existent I. This mind grasping at an inherently existent I is the root of samsara and the source of all fear. To remove the fears of samsara we must remove this mind by realizing that there is no inherently existent I.

I got the "session timed out" repeatedly just now. 4/27/11

How come I can post in this thread and not another?

I have to admit that I don't know exactly what's going on. Initially it seemed like the problem appeared because a session id was missing in some link addresses in the code, but I've gotten the session verification error even when the session id has been included in the address. I will open a support request thread at the SMF forum to try to get help with the problem.

When you get the error could you please copy down the following information:

Type of error
"Session timeout", "Session verification failed" or something different?
Page where the the error appeared
If using PC, mark up the address in the browser address bar and press Ctrl+C or right-click the marked text and choose "Copy". Open a text editor and press Ctrl+V or right-click and choose paste. If Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V doesn't work, you can try Ctrl+Ins and Shift+Ins instead. I have no idea how to do it on a Mac. The "Copy" and "Paste" commands can usually also be chosen from the browser's "Edit" menu if there is one.
The previous page
Click the browser "Back" button and repeat the above process
Browser
Let me know what internet browser you're using

This is what a "report" might look like (from one of my encounters with the error):

Session verification failed

http://www.freesangha.com/forums/index.php?topic=2506.msg38448;topicseen#new
Firefox

Note the part I've highlighted in red! If your link contains "sesc" (session check), be sure to remove/replace the following string of letters and numbers. This is your session ID, and I suspect that if you post it, it could possibly be used by someone else to post and do other stuff in your name.

EDIT: I just ran a repair_settings script that was recommended over at the SMF site, but I don't know if it did any good. I'll wait with opening a support request over there until someone sees the error again, just to be sure that the problem is still present.

Session verification failed

Safari

I deleted numbers after "sesc" but they seemed to be in the middle of other stuff, so I took them out and that's why there's three urls.

Just for Staff information. Using the same browser I frequent several other forums using SMF.  THis is the only one that pops these errors on a regular basis.  As a matter of fact, I've never seen it on any other SMF forum.
