As part of my grand(iose) plan to downsize, I got rid of all of my books. College text books, Star Wars books, comic books, fiction, non-fiction. Books I have never read, and books I have read 20 times over. There were two dozen boxes or more of books, that had been piled up in every corner of the house. I don't enjoy reading books on my IPad Kindle software as much as I enjoy holding a real live book, but I do enjoy all the space I save. And my back is grateful that I am not trying to haul a book bag filled with three bulky school textbooks and two recreational novels everywhere I go. Honestly, I don't know how I survived college without developing a permanent injury!

Boy, talk about attachments.  I have text books from 1962, which give me the shivers when I think about getting rid of them.  They seem like old friends, because I spent so many hours with them, am so familiar with them and know exactly what they have to say.

But, I think you have a great idea, MM.  Problem is I don't know what we are going to do with all that empty shelf space!     Yikes!
What Makes an Elder? :
A head of gray hairs doesn't mean one's an elder. Advanced in years, one's called an old fool.
But one in whom there is truth, restraint, rectitude, gentleness,self-control, he's called an elder, his impurities disgorged, enlightened.
-Dhammpada, 19, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

If Siri is on . . .
try pressing the screen button (to activate Siri)
Then ask:

Sweep up from underneath the bottom screen area to activate the control panel. Click on the clock symbol next to the camera.
Now you can time or alarm - meditation tool Ipad . . .

Close apps running in the background.

In iOS7 double tap the home button.

Then drag the page previews upwards, gone.
