One should not be allowed to modify ones posts after a certain time period, ones posts should remain carved in stone as a monument to their stupidity (or in my case their brilliant intelligence)  :D

I have briefly browsed this thread and it appears, that in the last few days, this phenomena has struck again. I no longer seem to have the 'modify' button.

We decided to try a 2 hour post edit limit. After that the post is locked. I hate to find a spelling mistake and not being able to correct it, but if someone decides to start rewriting or deleting the content of their posts days or weeks after they posted it, it completely messes up the flow and coherence of the entire thread. So I think the drawback is minor compared to the potential mess we've prevented byt the limitation. If one notices a grave or embarrassing mistake, one may always ask a mod to correct it if the time limit has passed.

Mistakes and errors should be banned. Legislate perfection; outlaw imperfection; mandatory compliance and excellence .....

Yeah, JM is back! Good to see you again, brother.

 I agree, imperfection is intolerable!
