Every one of us, regardless age and gender, is seeking liberation and Buddhahood. Nobody wants to worry or suffer. No matter what we do, such as study, get married, or work ,we do it to cast off afflictions and pains. In the end, the ultimate aim is to attain liberation, which has no affliction or pains left. So is becoming a Buddha the same as becoming a deity?

No! Becoming a Buddha is not attaining some certain goals. Becoming a Buddha is the completeness of merit and wisdom. Many people work day and night unscrupulously for this completeness. Thus all sentient beings desire for Buddhahood. The state of liberation and being a Buddha has something to do with all of us, even our life and work. If you get liberated and become a Buddha, your life will be fulfilled and you job will be wonderful, everything will be perfect. Liberation and attaining Buddhahood are the pursuit and common wish of all beings.
