How to Cope with the Person Harming the Three Jewels
« on: January 17, 2016, 09:26:39 pm »
 :r4wheel:Khenpo Tamgrin Rinpoche:

Somebody says: “However other people treat me, I will not arouse hatreds. But if somebody slanders the Three Jewels of the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, or destroys the Buddhist stupas, Buddha statues and Buddhist sutras, I would not be able to stand and will arouse hatreds.”

There must be many people in this world who hold erroneous views on or even slander the Three Jewels of the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, and there must be also many people who would destroy the representation of the Three Jewels. But they are all pitiful beings, and we shall have compassion on them rather than hate them or even hurt them. The cause of such behavior is the ignorance and afflictions which have controlled these people, and such afflictions are also aroused through external conditions. We should contemplate these reasons and understand the truth so as to curb our hatreds, and avoid committing bad conducts.

The Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, as well as the Buddhist stupas, Buddha statues and Buddhist sutras which are the supports of the Three Jewels, are already apart from all injuries. Nobody can destroy or injure them. As the disciple of the Three Jewels, once finding somebody doing such evil action, we should try our best to dissuade them – to dissuade or stop whichever is possible.

If we really fail in dissuading or stopping them, we should get away from such people provisionally. However, we shall not hate them but take compassion on them. Firstly, aspire from the mind to liberate them once we become Buddha; secondly, dedicate all merits we have accumulated through practice to them, and wish them to generate true faith in the Three Jewels and attain liberation at the earliest. We shall aspire like this quietly, rather than hate them, even revenge on or hurt them.

So how should we respond to this kind of thing?

There are many ways to deal with the impermenance of institutional dharmaism.

For example I ordered this drone strike on my Buddha Statues as a reminder of wrathful impermenance  :namaste:

May all benefit. Especially the rubble.  :brick:  <3
