What about Dharma Drum Mountain?  Master Yen was based there for many years.

Uggh...SDP, the OP is asking under the 'Vajrayana Forum: The Tibetan Connection'...

Why don't the OP try on Dharma Wheel's Vaj Forum? Most of the Vaj gang is there, they shld know better...

Lama Norlha has a place in NYC. His monastery is in Wappingers Falls near Poughkeepsie.

Here's the link for the monastery. You can call them and they'll give you the number for the NYC center:

kagyu.com

The URL for KTD in Woodstock (mentioned in a previous post) is:

kagyu.org

Gelugpas have the "Tibet House", but I think that is as much an "embassy" for the Tibetan Government in Exile as it is a Dharma Center. I don't know that for sure (never been there myself) so that's just an impression. I think Thurman hangs out there, or at least he used to.

Warning: I'm enough of a fundamentalist Tibet style Buddhist to believe that for the last 1,000 years Tibet has produced a handful of enlightened masters in every generation. I do not ask that YOU believe it, but it will greatly simplify conversations if you understand that about me. Thanks.
