From Suffering, To Suffering
« on: December 18, 2015, 08:14:47 pm »
 :r4wheel:Khenpo Tamgrin Rinpoche:

The sufferings and misfortunes we have undergone, including various kinds of fears, all come from the evil karma we have created before.

Take sickness as an example. Sometimes we feel headache, or sometimes we feel not well, although these are all ordinary illnesses, the feelings are really uncomfortable. Whenever the state of the illness deteriorates slightly, the fear and pain felt by our mind even makes us prefer to die. But after a while, we tend to forget the pains and fears that we have suffered, as is often the case with human beings. Whenever the situation turns a little bit better, we start to create karma again…

In addition, the sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, death, being apart from those you love, being together with those you hate and the suffering of not obtaining what you want are also what we have to experience and undergo.

The fears, misfortunes and pains we suffered and will suffer in our past, present and future lives all come from the evil karmas we have created before. Due to the afflictions in our mind, we created evil karma, which further caused these karmic effects. This is the real reason, and the only reason.

We might find many other reasons, such as, “isn’t that I didn’t eat well or keep warm, so I went sick?” “I do not have a proper job, nor a harmonious family, isn’t that the reason of my sufferings?”….All of these are not the real reasons.

The reason for our afflictions and sufferings, as well as our encountering of disasters is just due to the impurity of our mind and the evil karma we created. Like the saying goes “sow the wind and reap the whirlwind”, so the karmic effect has to mature in our own continuities, and our own five aggregates. In our past lives, we have been suffering numerous pains, so if we do not practice diligently in this life, our future lives will make no difference. To make a change, we can only rely on the Dharma and ourselves.

this is only conceptional and understanding to a chain series of events in a collective point of view, and is still misguided to the truth which is underlying all mental perseverance all effort.
