Ten Methods of Meditation- The second way

The second way: concentrate on the white light blob. Before you formally enter into meditation, you should also adjust your body, speech and mind, just like what I talked about the day before yesterday. Visualize there is a white, transparent, and gleamy light blob about the size of a bean between your eyebrows. Concentrate your mind on it without scattering. Each time of being in meditation or out of it should not be too long. And practice like this repetitiously. Don’t forget to dedicate and chant auspicious verses before you finish, as well as keep this state in your dailylife.
The time in meditation or out of it should not be too long, which is more emphasized in Dzogchen practice: the period should be short, and the times of it should be a lot, getting out of meditation,then, being into meditation shortly again. Practice in this way repeatedly, and gradually you will be able to join them together. In summary, the way we meditate are like this: short period, many times, finally the periods can be joined together, which will makeSamadhiarise successfully. Otherwise we will run into troubles easily. At present, why do many people fail to meditate with little merits? This is the point.

Interesting technique. I'd read about doing such short sittings in Mahamudra practice, but not about them "joining" together.

I've like to see the other nine methods.
My first formal meditation training was with Shunryu Suzuki in the 60's and later with Kobun, Robert Aitken and many other teachers (mainly zen). However, I've spent the most time practicing on my own, which is all I do now. I'm living in a rather isolated area so I miss connecting with other practitioners.
