Is the Buddha Dharma Idealism or Materialism?

Question:
Is the Buddha Dharma Idealism or Materialism?

Khenpo Tamgrin Rinpoche:
The Buddha dharma is neither idealism nor materialism. All phenomena are empty while the causes and effects are not, so Dharma is accommodative and unhampered. The “mind” referred to in idealism is existent, while the “mind” referred to in Dharma is empty, and in the emptiness everything can manifest.
