"Self and Not-Self" meditation course with Shaila Catherine
« on: February 22, 2016, 09:56:26 am »
Hello,

"This new online course offers an in-depth exploration of the formations that construct identity, focusing on the traditional model of the five aggregates affected by clinging - materiality, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness. This model offers meditators a powerful way to experientially realize how selfing occurs in contact with experiences. Exploring the five aggregates can refine our meditative experience and clarify the most potent objects for vipassana contemplation. The course will show how psychophysical processes are sometimes experienced as a self, and how seeing things as not-self is liberating.

The course will include recorded lectures, reading assignments, sutta study, discussion forums, and optional audio conferences with the teacher. This course is suitable for all levels of experience.
The Self and Not-Self: The Construction of Identity and the Five Clinging Aggregates course fulfills a pre-requisite for participation in later courses in the Concentration Series."
